Antigua and Barbuda to host regional legal education meeting

Antigua and Barbuda will host a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Council of Legal Education (CLE) on 19 January in St John’s.
The gathering will bring together senior legal officials from across the Caribbean to discuss issues affecting legal education and professional training in the region.
Attorney General Sir Steadroy Benjamin said the country was honoured to be selected to host the meeting, describing it as recognition of Antigua and Barbuda’s commitment to excellence and integrity within the legal profession.
Established more than 50 years ago, the CLE is responsible for maintaining standards in legal education across the region, overseeing the administration of regional law schools and long-term planning initiatives.

During the two-day meeting, members are expected to focus on strengthening cooperation among Caribbean jurisdictions, improving legal education frameworks and addressing administrative and financial matters relating to the council.
Officials say the discussions will contribute to the continued development of legal education in the Caribbean. (SOURCE- Pointe Fm)
