Cabinet Approves New National Award for Small-Business Excellence
The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda agreed to introduce a new category of National Awards to recognize outstanding small-business owners.
This award will honor individuals who have demonstrated excellence by creating sustainable employment, building successful enterprises, and achieving consistent profits.
The Chairman of Cabinet encouraged colleagues to help identify leaders in local commerce who have significantly contributed to economic growth and community development.
This initiative highlights the government’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and acknowledges the vital role of small businesses in the nation’s progress.
This new award will complement existing national honors and aligns with initiatives such as the Entrepreneurial Development Programme (EDP), which received $10 million in funding for 2025 to support small enterprises across the country.
