The Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF) and the Royal Police Force contingent assisting in Hurricane Beryl’s aftermath will extend their stay by two weeks.
Initially deployed for two weeks, the team will now support St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Grenada for up to a month, depending on progress and local capacity, according to Defence Force Chief of Staff Colonel Telbert Benjamin.
The contingent has been assessing damage and distributing essential supplies, including drinking water.
In St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Lieutenant Commander Dorian Davis leads the team, operating from Union Island and conducting assessments across the Grenadines.
In Grenada, a team led by Lieutenant Jacobs, including personnel from Antigua, Barbuda, and Barbados, is providing security assessments.
