Three senior officers from the Antigua and Barbuda Fire Brigade are representing the country at the 2026 Caribbean Association of Fire Chiefs Conference now underway in the Dominican Republic.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Vivian Parker, Superintendent of Police Elvis Gordon and Assistant Superintendent of Police Lester Bagot are attending the regional conference, which runs from May 17 to 24 in Playa Juan Dolio.

The opening ceremony was held at the Hodelpa Garden Suites Golf and Convention Center and brought together chief fire officers and senior emergency personnel from across the Caribbean.

This year’s conference is being held under the theme “Beyond Borders: Advancing Integrated Emergency Management Across the Caribbean.”

Delegates are expected to participate in a series of plenary sessions, panel discussions and strategic meetings focused on leadership, command presence, risk mitigation, strategic planning and the role of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in emergency management throughout the region.

Antigua and Barbuda is also expected to host the Caribbean Association of Fire Chiefs Conference in 2027.
