Another Cannabis Seizure at Airport Cargo Facility
St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Saturday, January 31, 2026
The police have made another cannabis seizure at the Custom Cargo Shed at V. C. Bird International Airport, in less than 24 hours.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 30, officers attached to the Narcotics Department and the Customs Enforcement Unit, discovered a cardboard box with eleven (11) vacuum-sealed packages containing vegetable material resembling the controlled drug cannabis.
The packages were seized and transported to Police Headquarters, where they were weighed and found to amount to thirteen (13) pounds, with an estimated street value of EC$78,000.00.
On Thursday, a similar operation resulted in the seizure of over thirteen pounds of cannabis with an estimated street value of EC $79,200.00

Investigations into both seizures remain ongoing.
