André Hill Appointed Antigua and Barbuda’s Honorary Consul to The Bahamas (Pointe Xpress)

Antiguan attorney André Hill has been appointed Honorary Consul to The Bahamas with immediate effect, strengthening diplomatic and consular ties between the two Caribbean nations.

Hill recently met with Minister of Foreign Affairs E.P. Chet Greene and senior officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where discussions focused on his new responsibilities and how his role will align with the ministry’s current and future policy objectives.

As Honorary Consul, Hill is expected to help maintain and strengthen the longstanding relationship between St. John’s and Nassau by identifying trade and investment opportunities that benefit Antigua and Barbuda while promoting the country’s interests in The Bahamas.

Director General of Foreign Affairs Ann Marie Layne said Hill will also serve as the first point of contact for Antigua and Barbuda nationals in The Bahamas who require consular assistance or other services.

Hill has lived in The Bahamas for some time and is married to a Bahamian national. He is the son of former Attorney General Radford Hill and current High Court Registrar Cecile Hill.

A lawyer by profession, Hill’s appointment is expected to enhance Antigua and Barbuda’s diplomatic representation and support for its citizens in The Bahamas.
