Ambassador Colin Murdoch of the OECS Mission in Geneva signed a Book of Condolences at the Malawi mission in Geneva for the late Vice President of Malawi, Dr. Saulos Chilima.

Dr. Chilima and eight others perished in a Malawi military plane crash last Wednesday while he was traveling to Mzuzu for Ralph Kasambara’s burial in Nkhata Bay. The Malawi Defence Force plane lost contact 10 minutes before its scheduled landing, and the wreckage was found later.

A state funeral in Lilongwe, attended by President Lazarus Chakwera and other dignitaries, was held at Bingu National Stadium. Vice President Chilima was laid to rest in his village.
