Air Quality Index Based on Particulate Matter 2.5 (PM2.5) and 10 (PM10) ConcentrationAir quality category: Unhealthy for sensitive groups

Location: Antigua and BarbudaTiming: Until tomorrow morning.

Synopsis: The air quality has fallen further to unhealthy levels for sensitive groups, due toparticulate matters 2.5 and 10, associated with the fifth notable surge in Saharan Dust.

The healthrisk is medium, mainly sensitive groups should be prepared for some health impacts.

Sensitivegroups include asthmatics and people with other respiratory issues, allergies, cardiovascularproblems and eye and skin irritations.

Air quality index: 101 to 150Alert Level: IIISensitive groups: People with respiratory or heart disease, the elderly and children are thegroups most at risk.

Health implications: Increasing likelihood of respiratory symptoms in sensitive individuals,aggravation of heart or lung disease and premature mortality in persons with cardiopulmonarydisease and the elderly.

Caution: Everyone should exercise caution, especially sensitive groupssuch as active children andadults, and people with heart or respiratory disease, such as asthma, should limit time outdoorsand restrict outdoor activity.

Also, keep windows and doors closed, as much as possible, and weara face mask, rated to filter out PM 2.5, when going outside.
