AGHS Alumnae Present EC$3,000 Donation Following Book Project

The Antigua Girls’ High School (AGHS) on Wednesday received a generous EC$3,000 donation from a global network of alumnae, represented at the cheque presentation by Dr. Ermina Osoba née Davis and former Headmistress Evelyn Sheppard née Davis.
The presentation underscores the continued commitment of past students around the world in supporting their alma mater.
Principal Rosalind Beaser accepted the cheque during a special assembly with students.
She expressed sincere gratitude for the contribution, noting that the donation comes on the heels of the school’s 140th anniversary celebrations.
She commended the alumnae for their dedication to preserving the institution’s legacy and for giving back in such a meaningful way.
The book was published by Tellwell Publishing in 2024 after “old girls” in a group chat started by Holly Peters née Joseph embarked on the project to capture personal reminiscences and achievements of the many students who graced the halls of the island’s lone public school for girls.
The project not only celebrates the rich history of AGHS but underscores the enduring bonds shared among its students across generations.
Proceeds from the publication will support ongoing initiatives at the school, reinforcing a tradition of excellence that has defined Antigua Girls’ High School for more than a century.

The book is available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble (online). Future sales and royalties will go to the school.
