Acting Commissioner Jeffers Urges Parents to Inform Schools About Authorized Pick-Up Persons

Acting Commissioner Jeffers has issued an important advisory for parents regarding the safety of students during pick-up at schools. In a statement, he emphasized the need for parents to notify teachers about any individuals who will be collecting their children from school.
“We are advising parents that if you’re sending someone else to pick up your child, make sure the teachers are aware of the name of the person and the vehicle number they will be using,” said Jeffers. “This precaution will help ensure that our young people don’t get themselves into trouble.”
The advisory comes in response to concerns over unauthorized pick-ups and the potential risks associated with it. The Acting Commissioner stressed the importance of clear communication between parents, school staff, and the people who are entrusted with collecting children from school.
Parents are encouraged to ensure that all necessary details are provided to the school to avoid confusion and maintain student safety.
