The Antigua and Barbuda Workers’ Union (ABWU) is marking a key achievement after its president, Kem Riley, was elected 3rd Vice-President of the Caribbean Congress of Labour (CCL).
Riley secured the post at the CCL’s 22nd Triennial Delegates Conference, held in Trinidad and Tobago. He is attending the meeting with ABWU representatives Joshua Pigott and Chenise Lewis.
The conference, themed “One Caribbean, One Voice: Advancing Workers’ Rights through Governance and Solidarity”, has brought together labour leaders from across the region to discuss ways to strengthen worker protections and boost cooperation.
Riley’s election is being hailed by the ABWU as a boost to Antigua and Barbuda’s influence within the regional labour movement.
