ABS Disruptions Continue as Workers Remain Away Over Health Co

The disruption at the Antigua and Barbuda Broadcasting Services (ABS) has continued into a new week, with most employees still remaining away from the workplace as concerns persist over conditions inside the broadcaster’s headquarters.
The ongoing action has left ABS operating with a skeleton crew as management attempts to keep essential functions running by redeploying available staff. Operations have also been hampered by intermittent Wi-Fi disruptions and transportation challenges affecting field personnel.
Workers were instructed by their union last week to clock in and immediately leave the building after a walkthrough of the facility raised concerns about visible mould, a foul odour and possible health risks. The situation reportedly worsened following flooding at the facility over the weekend.
Union officials have called for an air-quality assessment before employees return, and discussions with ABS management are expected as efforts continue to resolve the issue. In the meantime, most workers remain off the job awaiting confirmation that the building is safe.
