ABLP St John’s Rural East branch pledges support for government leadership in New Year message

The St John’s Rural East (SJRE) branch of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) has reaffirmed its support for the country’s political leadership, citing progress despite ongoing regional and global challenges.
In a New Year message to party members, SJRE ABLP branch chairman Carl A. Christopher said Antigua and Barbuda continues to move forward amid economic uncertainty, rising costs and external pressures affecting the wider region.
He credited what he described as “strong and responsible leadership” for sustaining national development and creating opportunities in areas such as education, home ownership and investment.
Mr Christopher reiterated the branch’s backing for the area’s parliamentary representative, Maria Browne, as well as Prime Minister Gaston Browne, saying their leadership continues to protect the interests of working people.

He also urged party supporters to remain engaged and united as the new year begins.
“As we move forward, I encourage each of you to remain engaged, disciplined, and united,” he said, while offering well wishes for health and prosperity to members and their families.
The statement comes as the ruling ABLP continues to emphasise economic resilience and social development as key priorities, against the backdrop of global financial pressures and regional economic headwinds.
