Antigua-Barbuda Cuba Friendship Group Raises EC$33,640 for Cuban Hospitals, Thanks Donors

The Antigua and Barbuda – Cuba Friendship Group wishes to express great appreciation to those who were able to make the effort to contribute to the fundraiser to help hospitals in Cuba, in these very difficult times to which that friendly country is being cruelly subjected.

A total of EC$33, 640.00 was collected from 14 individuals and a company of three. Seven of the doners studied in Cuba, but more than half of the funds were contibuted by persons who did not study in Cuba, and had no family member who studied there. We wish to say a very special thanks to this latter set of individuals.

There may be other opportunities for those who did not make it this time, to demonstrate their solidarity with and/or gratitude to Cuba.

A simply ceremony is planned for handing over the funds at the Cuban Embassy at Blue Waters.

The struggle continues.
