LIAT Air has announced further changes to its flight schedule after disruptions that began Friday spilled into Saturday, forcing the regional carrier to adjust services through Tuesday.

In a customer notice dated Aug. 8, the Antigua-based airline acknowledged what it described as “a few flight disruptions” the previous day and said the effects had continued into Saturday.

“As a result, changes have been made to scheduled services for Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday,” LIAT Air said.

The airline apologised to affected passengers and said its teams were working to minimise further disruption and restore normal operations as quickly as possible. No reason for the disruptions was given in the notice.

LIAT Air also released an updated schedule for Sunday, Aug. 9, showing more than two dozen flight sectors across its regional network.

Antigua features prominently in the revised schedule, with services connecting V.C. Bird International Airport to Grenada, Guyana, St. Kitts, Trinidad and Tobago, Punta Cana, Guadeloupe, St. Vincent, Dominica, St. Lucia and the British Virgin Islands, among other destinations.

Scheduled Sunday departures from Antigua include flights to Trinidad at 8 a.m.; St. Kitts and Guyana at 9 a.m.; Guadeloupe at 1:45 p.m.; Punta Cana at 2:40 p.m.; St. Vincent at 2:30 p.m.; Dominica at 4 p.m.; St. Lucia at 6:15 p.m.; and the British Virgin Islands at 6:20 p.m.

The updated schedule also includes return services to Antigua from several destinations throughout the day.

Passengers affected by the changes are being urged to contact LIAT Air’s Customer Experience Centre at 1-268-713-5428 for assistance and further information.

The airline said additional updates would be issued as they become available and encouraged passengers to monitor its social media pages for the latest information.

“We understand the inconvenience these changes may cause and sincerely apologise to our customers who may be affected,” LIAT Air said.
