Caribbean Airlines Cargo Flight Declares Emergency, Lands Safely in Jamaica

Caribbean Airlines says one of its cargo flights safely landed in Jamaica after declaring an emergency while en route from Miami International Airport.

The airline said cargo flight BW 8045, which was operated by Atlas Air on its behalf, declared the emergency on July 30 while traveling to Kingston.

According to Caribbean Airlines, aviation authorities were immediately notified, and Atlas Air activated established aviation security and emergency response procedures.

The aircraft landed safely in Kingston, where it was met by airport and security officials in accordance with standard safety protocols. The aircraft has since been taken out of service for maintenance.

Caribbean Airlines said it has contacted all affected cargo customers and provided them with updated information regarding their shipments.

The airline did not disclose the nature of the emergency or indicate whether any injuries or damage were reported.
