Sir McChesney George Student Joins Junior Chef Academy Internship at Galley Bay Resort

— Justine Griffin of Sir McChesney George Secondary School has been introduced as the eighth participant in the Taste of Wadadli Junior Chef Academy 2026, where she will complete a culinary internship under the guidance of Executive Chef Guven Uyanik at Galley Bay Resort and Spa.

As part of the programme, Griffin will spend more than a month gaining practical experience in a professional kitchen, developing her culinary techniques and learning from industry professionals. The internship runs from July 13 to Aug. 21.

The academy will culminate in a cook-off competition scheduled for Aug. 25–28, followed by a closing ceremony on Sept. 3.

At the conclusion of the programme, one participant will be named the academy’s top junior chef and will earn the opportunity to represent Antigua and Barbuda at the Junior Lit’l Chef Camp in the Turks and Caicos Islands in 2027 through a partnership with the Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association.

Organisers said the programme is designed to nurture young culinary talent while providing students with hands-on training and exposure to the hospitality industry.

The Taste of Wadadli Junior Chef Academy 2026 is presented by the Antigua and Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association, the Ted Isaac Family and Global Ports Holding (Antigua Cruise Port).
