The Pace Is Set – Antigua Carnival 2026 Officially Comes Alive

The Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission (ABFC) is celebrating the tremendous success of the official pre-events for Antigua Carnival 2026, setting the stage for a memorable Carnival.
Over the past few nights, Carnival City came alive with extraordinary talent and creativity, as patrons were treated to world-class entertainment, vibrant cultural performances, and an atmosphere befitting the Caribbean’s Greatest Summer Festival.
With the official start of the Antigua Carnival schedule on Saturday, July 25th, the Commission is proud to reflect on the remarkable pre-events that have set the tone for the days ahead.
Minister of Sports and Creative Industries, Hon. Dwayne George, commended the Commission and everyone involved in bringing Carnival City to life. “I am incredibly proud of the transformation of ARG into a first-class Carnival City. This year, the Commission has truly levelled up. I have great anticipation for what’s to come fornext year as we celebrate the 70th anniversary. To my Chair and Commissioners, the feedback has been overwhelming. People say Carnival City feels like a major international venue. Everything sounded great, looked spectacular, and the atmosphere is exceptional. I have seen the major transformation and appreciate every single person who made it happen.” When asked what he is most looking forward to this Carnival season, Minister George smiled and said: “I’m looking forward to the Rhythm Court Vibes on Monday, seeing my people vibing, enjoying some good food, listening to great music, and soaking up the true Carnival spirit. And I’m calling out Gassi Dread… meet me at the domino table!“
