Van, Mini Cooper Badly Damaged in Friars Hill Road Crash

A crash involving a white commercial van and a blue Mini Cooper caused major traffic disruption along Friars Hill Road on Thursday.
The collision sent the van off the roadway and into a drain, leaving it with extensive front-end damage. The Mini Cooper was also badly damaged at the front, and debris was scattered across the roadway.
Police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene. Firefighters cleared the area after determining there were no immediate hazards, while EMTs assisted those involved.
Authorities have not disclosed what caused the crash or confirmed how many people were involved. The condition of those involved and whether anyone was taken to the hospital were also not immediately known.
Police are investigating the collision.
