Ambassador Ronald Sanders Discusses Diplomacy and U.S.-Antigua Relations with Cornell Students

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Antigua and Barbuda’s Ambassador to the United States, Sir Ronald Sanders, hosted students and faculty from the Cornell University Brooks School of Public Policy Summer Institute at the Embassy of Antigua and Barbuda in Washington, D.C., for a discussion on diplomacy, democratic governance and international relations.

The session formed part of the “Democracy Policy in the World” course offered through the Cornell Brooks DC Summer Policy Institute and co-taught by Professors Marian Vidaurri and Thomas Garrett.

During the discussion, Sanders spoke about the practice of diplomacy, Antigua and Barbuda’s bilateral relationship with the United States, the role of multilateralism, and the importance of democratic governance. The exchange was framed around the theme, “Is Might Right?”

Sanders described the meeting as an engaging exchange of ideas with what he called “an impressive group of future young leaders.”

The Cornell Brooks DC Summer Policy Institute provides students with opportunities to engage directly with policymakers, diplomats and public officials on contemporary global policy issues.
