Billiard Kings Complete Semifinal Sweep to Secure NPPA Third-Place Trophy

The Billiard Kings completed a dominant semifinal performance on Wednesday night, defeating Cue Action 5-2 to complete a three-match sweep and capture the third-place trophy in the 2026 National Pool Players Association (NPPA) Team Tournament.
The result capped a series that told two very different stories.
The opening encounter was a thriller, with Cue Action staging a spirited comeback after trailing early and even reaching the hill before eventually falling 5-4 in a deciding rack. The following night, however, the Kings tightened their grip on the series with a commanding 5-0 whitewash that left Cue Action needing a miracle to extend the contest.
Instead, the Billiard Kings finished what they started.
Cue Action captain Wendy provided an encouraging start for his team, defeating Demolition Man in straight racks to draw first blood and briefly raise hopes of a comeback.
Those hopes grew stronger when Willy edged Marshall 2-1. Marshall claimed the opening rack, but Willy responded with back-to-back victories to give Cue Action a 2-0 advantage.
From that point on, however, the Kings took complete control.
Sniper ignited the comeback with a composed straight-rack victory over Randy, cutting the deficit in half before Killa continued his impressive form by defeating Esmil 2-1. It marked the second consecutive night that Killa had gotten the better of his opponent.
Henry then gave the Kings their first lead of the evening, overcoming Pachy 2-1 in another tightly contested encounter.
One of the night’s standout performances came from Grim, whose remarkable playoff form continued.
After enduring a winless regular season, Grim has emerged as one of the Kings’ most valuable postseason performers.
Facing Cue Action import Alfredo, Grim dropped the opening rack before producing another resilient comeback to win the next two and claim the point, putting his team on the hill, once more.
The victory further cemented what has been one of the tournament’s most impressive playoff turnarounds.
With the Kings leading 4-2 and the finish line in sight, Jason Roberts stepped to the table with an opportunity to close out the series. He did exactly that, defeating Cigarro in straight racks to secure the decisive fifth point and complete the 5-2 victory.
The triumph seals a clean 3-0 semifinal sweep for the Billiard Kings, who produced an outstanding playoff campaign.
After surviving a tense opener, dominating the second encounter, and confidently closing out the series on the third night, the Kings leave the tournament with the 2026 NPPA third-place trophy and plenty of momentum after one of the strongest postseason performances of the year.
