Coast Guard Details Search and Recovery of Man at Pigeon Point Beach

The Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force Coast Guard (ABDFCG) recovered the body of a 56-year-old male at Pigeon Point Beach at approximately 6:45 am on Thursday 25th June 2026.
Initial reports indicate that the deceased entered the water at approximately 2:00 pm on Wednesday for a swim in the area. A beach goer reported observing him experiencing difficulties near the boundary of the swim area and was not seen since.
The Coast Guard responded and commenced Search and Rescue operations; in collaboration with the Antigua Barbuda Search and Rescue (ABSAR), Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda as well as other local divers within the area. An extensive dive operation was conducted to locate the missing individual,however, due to poor visibility below the surface, the search was suspended and resumed the following morning.
The search resumed this morning where the Coast Guard Dive Team found and recovered the deceased. His body was transported to Coast Guard Headquarters at Deep Water Harbour, where district doctor pronounced his death at approximately 8:22 am.
The ABDF Coast Guard extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and wishes them strength and comfort during this difficult time.
