Coast Guard Recovers Body of Teen at Devil’s Bridge Following Overnight Search

The Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force Coast Guard has confirmed the recovery of the body of an 18-year-old female at Devil’s Bridge following an overnight search and rescue operation.
According to a media release issued Sunday evening, the young woman entered the water at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday and did not resurface.
The Coast Guard launched a search operation shortly after receiving reports of the incident. However, poor visibility and deteriorating sea conditions forced crews to suspend the search overnight.

The operation resumed early Sunday morning, and members of the Coast Guard Dive Team located the teenager’s body at around 7 a.m.
Authorities said the body was transported to Coast Guard Headquarters at Deep Water Harbour, where a district doctor officially pronounced her dead at approximately 7:55 a.m.
The Coast Guard extended condolences to the family and friends of the deceased as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The latest update follows earlier reports that police and Coast Guard personnel had been conducting searches in the area after the teenager was reported missing in the waters off Devil’s Bridge.
