Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre Mourns the Passing of Veteran Surgeon Dr. Subbiah Radhakrishnan

The Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC) has announced the passing of Dr. Subbiah Radhakrishnan, a consultant general surgeon who served as a valued member of the institution’s medical team.
In a statement issued on Friday, the hospital said it was “deeply saddened” by the loss of Dr. Radhakrishnan, describing him as a dedicated and professional physician whose contributions touched the lives of patients, colleagues and the wider community.
“Dr. Radhakrishnan served our patients and community with dedication and professionalism, and his loss will be felt by colleagues, patients, and all who had the privilege of working alongside him,” the statement said.

The medical centre paid tribute to the surgeon’s commitment to healthcare and acknowledged the impact he had on those who worked with him throughout his career.
Hospital officials also extended condolences to his family, loved ones, friends and colleagues during what they described as a difficult time.
“At this difficult time, we extend our sincere condolences to his family, loved ones, friends, and colleagues,” SLBMC said.
The institution noted that, out of respect for the family’s privacy, no further details would be provided at this time.
Dr. Radhakrishnan was identified as a consultant general surgeon at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he was regarded as a respected member of the medical staff.
The hospital concluded its statement by expressing solidarity with those grieving his death.
“The thoughts of the entire Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre family are with those mourning his loss,” the statement added.
The passing of Dr. Radhakrishnan has prompted an outpouring of condolences from members of the medical community and patients who benefited from his years of service.
