Senator Lamin Newton Praises Alzarri Joseph Following Falcons Draft Selection

Government Senator and ABLP caretaker for All Saints East and St. Luke, Lamin Newton, has congratulated Antiguan fast bowler Alzarri Joseph after he was drafted by the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons for the 2026 Caribbean Premier League season.
In a statement , Newton said he was “proud” to see Joseph selected by the franchise, describing the cricketer as a source of national pride.
“Alzarri continues to represent Antigua & Barbuda with pride, passion, and excellence on the regional and international stage,” Newton wrote.

He also pointed to Joseph’s support for local causes and communities, saying the player’s willingness “to support and stand with his people speaks volumes about his patriotism and commitment to country.”
Newton wished the West Indies pacer success in the upcoming CPL season, adding that Joseph continues to inspire young people through “hard work, discipline, and national pride.”
The Falcons recently began unveiling their squad for the 2026 CPL campaign, with Joseph among the headline local and regional signings.
