APUA Launches Utility Amnesty Programme to Reconnect Long-Disconnected Households

APUA Announces Utility Amnesty Programme
The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) advises the public of the implementation of a Utility Amnesty Programme for residential customers whose services have been disconnected for 180 days or more. This initiative follows a Cabinet decision taken in April 2026 by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda, aimed at providing customers with an opportunity to restore access to essential utility services.
Residential customers whose electricity, water, or telephone services were disconnected on or before September 30, 2025, are eligible to apply for amnesty under this programme.
Applications will be processed at Customer Service at the APUA Business Centre on Independence Avenue and at the Village Walk location.
To complete the application process, customers are required to present:
• A valid government-issued identification
• Account number
• For tenants, a letter of permission from their landlord
The deadline to apply for the Utility Amnesty Programme is May 29, 2026. Customers are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to regularize their accounts and restore service.
For further information, customers may contact the APUA Customer Service team at (268) 480-7150 or email [email protected].
