Kelvin “Shugy” Simon confident of re-election in St Mary’s South

United Progressive Party (UPP) candidate Kelvin “Shugy” Simon has expressed confidence in retaining his St Mary’s South seat, dismissing doubts over his candidacy.
Speaking at Freedom Hall on Tuesday, Simon reflected on his rapid political rise, crediting constituents for transforming him from a newcomer into a “political beast.” He recalled defeating a long-standing incumbent within three months in the last general election, calling it a historic achievement.
“Together, we created history… the only branch to win two elections in a single calendar year,” he said.
Simon pledged that the UPP’s ambitions extend beyond past victories. “We are not done. We want more… we did it twice before, and we will do it again,” he added, reaffirming his commitment to the constituency and the party’s dominance.
