Social Security Board Marks 53 Years of Service to Antigua and Barbuda
The Antigua and Barbuda Social Security Board (ABSSB) is marking 53 years of service, highlighting its role in supporting workers, families and retirees across the country.
In a statement commemorating the anniversary, the Board reflected on its founding vision of promoting a stronger and more equitable society, describing the institution as a cornerstone of national development.
The ABSSB said it has remained closely connected to the lives of citizens over the decades, providing support through periods of growth and hardship while maintaining its mandate of social protection.
The milestone was also used to recognise what the Board described as the resilience and perseverance of the Antiguan and Barbudan people, as well as the continued importance of national unity and shared responsibility.
Officials expressed gratitude to contributors and beneficiaries for their trust over the years, noting that the programme’s longevity is tied to public confidence and participation.
The Board said it remains committed to adapting to changing economic and social conditions while continuing to provide security and support for future generations.
