Antigua and Barbuda Closes March with Nearly 14,000 Cruise Visitors in a Day

Antigua and Barbuda’s cruise sector closed out March on a high note, with more than 13,900 passengers and crew arriving in port in a single day, according to the Antigua Cruise Port.

Three major vessels — Norwegian Epic, Celebrity Ascent, and Marella Discovery 2 — docked in St. John’s Harbour, while the luxury yacht Emerald Sakara anchored in Falmouth Harbour, bringing a combined influx of visitors ashore.
The Norwegian Epic accounted for the largest share, carrying 4,877 passengers and 1,560 crew members. It was followed by Celebrity Ascent with 3,278 passengers and 1,431 crew, and Marella Discovery 2 with 1,863 passengers and 742 crew. The smaller Emerald Sakara contributed 94 passengers and 75 crew.
The strong turnout underscores continued momentum in the country’s cruise tourism industry, which remains a key driver of economic activity for businesses in St. John’s and surrounding communities.
Port officials say the sustained volume of arrivals reflects growing demand and confidence in Antigua and Barbuda as a premier cruise destination, as the industry transitions toward the summer season.
