Government Accelerates Nationwide Road Repairs

The government has launched an island-wide road rehabilitation programme, deploying heavy equipment and round-the-clock crews to address deteriorating road conditions across multiple communities.
The Ministry of Public Works, led by Maria Bird Brown, said the effort targets long-standing infrastructure issues that have affected commuters, increased vehicle maintenance costs, and raised safety concerns. Areas including Seaton’s Hill, Fry’s Hill, Bendals, and Glanvilles are among those earmarked for resurfacing and full rehabilitation.
Central to the initiative is the long-criticised All Saints Road, with works expected to begin shortly.
Officials say overnight operations will be expanded to speed up repairs and reduce disruption, signalling a shift from planning to execution in what is being described as a nationwide road repair push.
