NODS Staff Complete Public Affairs Training with Canadian Armed Forces Support

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua — Members of the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) have completed an intensive public affairs training course aimed at strengthening communication and operational readiness.

The programme, delivered in collaboration with personnel from the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF) and other government agencies, was led by an expert team from the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).
Participants received hands-on instruction in media relations, strategic messaging and public communication, with a focus on responding effectively in fast-moving information environments.
The course, held at Camp Blizzard, was designed to build individual capacity while reinforcing the role of coordinated communication in disaster response and public affairs operations.
Officials said the initiative also underscored the importance of international partnerships in advancing professional development across government agencies.
