LISTEN: PM says younger Barbudans are realizing they were misled on land issue

Browne says younger Barbudans questioning long-held land claims
Prime Minister Gaston Browne says younger residents in Barbuda are beginning to reassess long-standing beliefs about land ownership on the island.
Speaking on his weekly radio programme, Browne argued that many younger Barbudans are coming to recognize that they were misled on the issue, particularly in relation to claims surrounding land rights and ownership structures.
He said recent legal interpretations and government policies, including the administration’s land initiatives, have contributed to what he described as a shift in understanding among the younger population.
The comments come as debate over land ownership in Barbuda remains a central political issue, with the government and opposition continuing to clash over the island’s development model and property rights.
