Two injured in Paynters crash as series of evening collisions strain emergency services

A 41-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy were taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Paynters on Friday evening.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m., though details surrounding how the crash happened remain unclear. The woman, identified as a prison officer, was driving one of the vehicles involved. Both she and the teenage passenger were transported by Emergency Medical Services after reporting pain to the back, neck and head.
The crash was one of three recorded within a two-hour span, placing additional pressure on emergency responders during a particularly busy evening.
Authorities confirmed that the other two incidents resulted in fatalities.
