Gaston Browne Unopposed as ABLP Political Leader Ahead of April 12 Convention

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has been nominated unopposed to continue as Political Leader of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP), as the party prepares for its April 12 convention.
The move signals unity within the ruling party ahead of widely anticipated general elections in the coming months.
Party officials said the executive will remain largely unchanged, with E.P. Chet Greene returning as Chairman, alongside Samantha Marshall and Clement Antonio as First and Second Vice Chairpersons.
Donna Chaia has been added to the leadership team as Third Vice Chairman, while Abena St. Luce will serve as Treasurer.
Senator Shenella Govia is set to replace long-serving General Secretary Senator Mary-Clare Hurst, who is expected to take on the honorary role of General Secretary Emeritus.
The April 12 convention will formally ratify the leadership team and the party’s slate of candidates for the next general election.
