Tian Winter Takes Soca Artist and Recording Artist of the Year Titles, Absent To Receive Awards

Soca star Tian Winter secured two of the night’s top honors at the National Music Awards, winning Soca Artist of the Year and Recording Artist of the Year, though the artist was not present at Tuesday night’s ceremony.
Winter was announced as Soca Artist of the Year, beating fellow nominee Young Lyrics in the category recognizing standout performers in the genre.
He also captured Recording Artist of the Year, edging Soca Villain and Niko Wild West for the title.
Winter was absent from the event, and there was no representative available to accept the awards on his behalf.
The wins capped another successful year for the Antiguan soca performer, whose music continues to gain traction among audiences locally and across the Caribbean.
The National Music Awards ceremony recognized artists, producers, bands and entertainment figures whose work has contributed to the continued development of Antigua and Barbuda’s music industry.
