PRESS RELEASE

MBS Expands Access with New Pharmacy at Glanvilles Polyclinic

St. John’s, Antigua – 10 March 2026 – The Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs, in collaboration with the Medical Benefits Scheme (MBS), has officially opened a new MBS Pharmacy at the Glanvilles Polyclinic. The new pharmacy service has been integrated into the clinic to support residents of Glanvilles and surrounding communities.

The opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on Tuesday 10 March 2026. In attendance were the Honourable Minister of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs, Sir Molwyn Joseph; Minister of State within the Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs, Senator the Honourable Michael Joseph; Chairman of the Medical Benefits Board, His Excellency Sir Lionel Hurst; Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Benefits Scheme, Mr Kevin Silston; and Acting Permanent Secretary with responsibility for Primary Health Care in the Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs, Ms Marsha Joseph.

The decision to open an MBS Pharmacy within the Glanvilles Polyclinic strengthens continuity of care, especially for individuals with chronic conditions who require regular prescriptions. By reducing the need to travel to St. John’s for routine pharmacy services, this integration streamlines the patient journey and ensures that patients can access prescribed medication at the same facility where they receive care.

The MBS Pharmacy at the Glanvilles Polyclinic provides pharmacy services on a same-day basis and operates Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Beneficiaries are encouraged to bring a valid prescription and their MBS card.

For more information on MBS pharmacy locations and services, beneficiaries may contact the Medical Benefits Scheme on (268) 481-6366/67/68.
