Fourth Homicide Recorded as Police Probe Fatal Shooting in Gray’s Farm

Police are investigating the country’s fourth homicide of the year after a man was found dead following a shooting in the Gray’s Farm community early Tuesday morning.
Officers responded shortly after 4 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of a man with gunshot wounds. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear as investigators continue to piece together what led to the killing.
Head of the Criminal Investigations Department, Superintendent Lisborn Michael, said detectives are actively pursuing leads and gathering information related to the case. Authorities have begun interviewing several persons of interest as part of the ongoing investigation.
The killing has raised further concern about violent crime, as it marks the fourth homicide recorded in Antigua and Barbuda since the start of the year.
Police Commissioner Everton Jeffers acknowledged the growing concern and said the police force is committed to resolving the latest case along with the three other unsolved murders recorded earlier this year.
Jeffers said investigators will continue to follow all available leads as the force works to bring those responsible to justice and provide answers to the victim’s family.
Police are urging anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact the Criminal Investigations Department.
