Minister of Public Utilities Meets with APUA and AT&LU Representatives Following Industrial Action
The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) advises the public that Honourable Melford Nicholas, Minister of Public Utilities, convened a meeting today with representatives of the Antigua Trades and Labour Union (AT&LU), including union executives and shop stewards, together with members of APUA’s executive management team, to address matters arising from the industrial action involving some employees of the Authority.
The meeting was held in response to the industrial action involving some employees covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement between APUA and the AT&LU.
During the discussions, the parties engaged in a constructive and amicable exchange regarding the ongoing negotiations and matters of concern. The meeting provided an opportunity for all sides to clarify issues and reaffirm their commitment to continued dialogue.
Following the discussions, union members were asked to return to their respective duty stations and resume their normal work responsibilities.
All parties present agreed to reconvene for a follow-up meeting on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, to finalise the terms of the agreement on the matters that were raised today.
APUA remains committed to maintaining open communication with its employees and their representatives while ensuring the continued delivery of essential services to the people of Antigua and Barbuda.
