Two Arrested Following Firearm Seizure During Joint Police Operation
St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Monday, 2 March 2026
Two men are currently in police custody following the seizure of a firearm during a joint police operation.
At approximately 4:50 p.m. on Friday, 27 February, police officers attached to multiple specialized units, including the Criminal Investigations Department Task Force, Special Services Unit, Firearms and Evidence Recovery Unit, Serious Crime Unit, K-9 Unit, and the Police Armory, executed a coordinated stop-and-search operation, along the Simon Boulevard Main Road.
During the operation, a silver Suzuki motor jeep was intercepted and searched.
A firearm and a magazine, along with other items of evidential value were seized.
Two Men were subsequently arrested on suspicion of Possession of a Firearm and transported to the St. John’s Police Station for questioning.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda continues to intensify operations aimed at removing illegal firearms from the nation’s streets.
