PM predicts “blowout” win for ABLP in St. Philip’s North by-election
ST. JOHN’S, Antigua — Prime Minister Gaston Browne says he is confident the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) will secure a decisive victory in the upcoming St. Philip’s North by-election, describing the anticipated outcome as a “blowout.”
Speaking on the Browne and Browne Show on Pointe FM, Browne said the response on the ground has been “overwhelming” and signaled strong support for the party’s candidate, Randy Baltimore.
“I am confident that it is going to be a blowout,” Browne said, adding that the party’s mobilization efforts and community backing have placed it in a strong position ahead of the March 16 poll.
The prime minister said Baltimore has been active in the constituency and urged supporters to ensure their voter identification cards are validated ahead of election day.
Nomination day is set for Feb. 25, with voters in St. Philip’s North scheduled to go to the polls on March 16.
