Rotary Club of Antigua Donates Sewing Machines and Laptops to Salvation Army Women’s Programme

The Rotary Club of Antigua has donated four sewing machines and 10 laptops to the Salvation Army St. John’s Citadel Women’s Action Group Programme, expanding skills training opportunities for women enrolled in the initiative.
The equipment is expected to enhance vocational instruction, support creative development and strengthen pathways to economic independence for participants in the programme.
The contribution was made possible through a 15-year partnership between the Rotary Club of Antigua, the Bellvue Breakfast Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Kirkland Downtown. The longstanding collaboration reflects Rotary’s focus on international cooperation and community-based development.
Representatives of the Rotary Club of Antigua said the donation underscores the organisation’s commitment to empowering women and supporting initiatives that foster sustainable growth within families and communities.
The Salvation Army’s Women’s Action Group Programme provides training and support services aimed at equipping women with practical skills to improve their livelihoods.
