Two killed in multi-vehicle crash during Dominica Carnival

A Dominican woman who lived in New York and was visiting the island for Carnival celebrations is among two people killed in a multi-vehicle road crash on Friday evening.
Police identified the victims as Romaine Bent, a Jamaican national residing in Massacre, and 39-year-old Christian Green, a Dominican national who lived in New York. Ms Green was a pillion passenger on a motorcycle at the time of the collision.
The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force said the crash involved a Toyota Noah, a Toyota HiAce bus and a motorcycle, all travelling along the same roadway.
Both victims were taken to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Dominica–China Friendship Hospital, where they were pronounced dead at about 21:42.
Their bodies have been taken to Lyndhurst Funeral Home for post-mortem examinations. Police said investigations into the circumstances of the crash are continuing.
