Antigua Hangars Inc. welcomes Court of Appeal decision and proposes practical path forward

> Antigua Hangars Inc. notes the decision of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, delivered on 28 January 2026, which dismissed the appeal brought by the Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority and affirmed the High Court’s orders.
> We have always recognised the national importance of V.C. Bird International Airport and the need for proper security and maintenance. At the same time, we have maintained that private property rights must be respected, and that any access to, or works upon, privately owned lands must be properly agreed and lawfully undertaken.
> Now that the Court has provided clarity, Antigua Hangars Inc. is calling for a calm, practical resolution that ends this long-running dispute and allows all parties to move forward.
> A reasonable solution to end the impasse
> Antigua Hangars Inc. proposes the following steps, immediately:
> 1. Orderly compliance and stabilisation
> A coordinated plan to give effect to the Court’s orders, including the required steps regarding the perimeter fence and any related access arrangements.
> 2. A formal, written access and maintenance arrangement
> We invite the Airport Authority to enter a time-bound, legally documented agreement that sets out:
> o defined access points and routes,
> o security protocols (escorts, passes, timing, safety),
> o notice requirements for inspections and repairs,
> o responsibility for reinstatement after works,
> o indemnities and insurance, and
> o a dispute-resolution mechanism.
> 3. Independent technical verification
> A joint site meeting with an independent surveyor/engineer to confirm boundaries, fence alignment, and a practical method for maintenance and inspections that avoids future misunderstanding.

> 4. Structured dialogue
> We are prepared to meet within seven (7) days with the Airport Authority and relevant stakeholders, and we are open to mediation to finalise an agreement swiftly.
> Commitment to the public interest
> This matter should not be allowed to become a recurring source of conflict. Antigua Hangars Inc. remains committed to responsible development, lawful cooperation, and a stable operating environment around airport-adjacent lands—while safeguarding the rights affirmed by the Court.
> We encourage all parties to proceed in a measured way, avoid escalation, and focus on an agreement that delivers certainty, safety, and fairness.
