The National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) has begun a review of disaster preparedness in public schools, starting with Buckley’s Primary School.
Public Relations Officer Midcie Francis said the exercise assessed how effectively schools can respond during emergencies, including earthquakes and hurricanes.
The review formed part of NODS’ Primary School Disaster Management Programme, which aims to strengthen preparedness and resilience in the education sector.

At Buckley’s Primary, officials examined evacuation procedures, student accountability and the availability of essential supplies. The drill involved teachers, students and emergency personnel.
NODS said similar assessments will continue at other schools, including Clare Hall Secondary, as part of ongoing efforts to improve disaster readiness nationwide. (Source- Pointe FM)
