Senator Colin O’Neal Browne Addresses Deliberate Misrepresentation of Remarks

Senator Hon. Colin O’Neal Browne is rightfully refuting a recent deliberate misrepresentation of remarks that were expressed at a recent vigil, to which he was invited by the Venezuelan Ambassador, Carmen Velasquez.

While Senator Browne was quite measured in expressing an appreciation to be invited to the momentous occasion of solidarity and peace, he did not make any statements criticizing the removal of the Venezuelan leadership of the sovereign state, nor did he address the internal political situation in Venezuela, as published by the Antigua Newsroom on January 23, 2025.

The comments attributed to him in the Antigua Newsroom are profoundly inaccurate, misleading and should be retracted forthwith and with an apology. Failure to comply immediately will leave Senator Browne no other alternative but to seek legal redress soonest.
