ABFA Hosts Badge Ceremony for FIFA Match Officials
The Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) hosted a Badge Ceremony for FIFA Match Officials on Tuesday, January 21, 2026, at the ABFA Conference Room, recognizing the commitment and achievements of the nation’s top football referees.
During the ceremony, match officials were formally congratulated by the ABFA Technical Director Sowerby Gomes and the Head of Referees, Kelesha Antoine, who praised their dedication, professionalism, and continued efforts to uphold the highest standards of officiating in Antigua and Barbuda.
The event also served as an opportunity to recognize and commend Shemroy Alie, Teyarni Mourrillon, and Robet Emmanuel, three national match officials who are currently, or were recently, away participating in regional referee development courses. Their participation in these programs was highlighted as a positive step toward strengthening the quality and credibility of officiating both locally and regionally.

Speakers at the ceremony encouraged all match officials to respect the game, maintain integrity, uphold fairness, and serve as role models on and off the field. Emphasis was placed on continuous improvement, discipline, and commitment to the laws and spirit of football.
The ABFA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting referee development and expressed confidence that the officials will continue to contribute positively to the growth and professionalism of football in Antigua and Barbuda. Gratitude was also given to the team behind the team. Technical instructors Darez Dundas and Ishan Philip have worked very hard to ensure that all referees are equipped and ready for the game.
