The Ministry of Works Antigua & Barbuda says 2025 marked an intense year of island-wide infrastructure activity, with road, curb and drainage works continuing through December across multiple communities.

In a year-end recap, the ministry said construction maintained a steady pace throughout the month, crediting teams within the ministry, contractors and partner agencies for sustained delivery.

Looking ahead to 2026, the ministry outlined plans to scale up community road works with the commissioning of a new crusher at the Public Works Quarry and expanded storage capacity through three new cement silos at the government’s concrete plant. Officials said the investments are expected to support both road construction and housing projects.

The ministry also pointed to progress on major corridors, including the next phase of works on All Saints Road, alongside continued upgrades to community roads. Authorities said traffic diversions will be implemented where necessary to limit disruption.

The update acknowledged support from Prime Minister Gaston Browne, Works Minister Maria Vanessa Browne, the Project Implementation Management Unit, contractors including C.O. Williams, and partner agencies such as APUA and ABTB, as well as the public.

The ministry said it is positioning 2026 as the next stage of a broader infrastructure transformation while extending New Year’s greetings to residents.
