Government to Open 2026 With National Service of Thanksgiving and Prayer

The government of Antigua and Barbuda will formally usher in 2026 with the Annual National Service of Thanksgiving and Prayer, continuing a long-standing tradition of reflection and national unity at the start of the year.
The service is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026, at 9 a.m. at the St. John’s Pentecostal House of Restoration Ministries on Lauchland Benjamin Drive.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne, members of Cabinet, government officials, church leaders and members of the public are expected to attend. The service is being held in conjunction with Bishop Stephen Andrews and the congregation of the host church.
The annual observance is a fixture on the national calendar, marking the transition into the new year through collective thanksgiving, prayer and reflection on the challenges and opportunities ahead.
