Police say a robbery suspect is being treated in hospital, atter he was reportedly attacked and beaten by masked men in Villa last night.
The man reported he was shot, but no gunshot wounds were reportedly found on his body when he was rushed to hospital.
He however had injuries consistent with being beaten with a blunt instrument.
The man is implicated in the robbery of a policeman’s gun in Villa earlier this month, during an armed robbery at the Pearl River Supermarket.
He could be charged for that robbery in coming days. (STATE MEDIA)
