Government Targets Gangs with New Suppression Unit and Anti-Crime Laws

Information Minister Melford Nicholas announced that the government of Antigua and Barbuda is ramping up efforts to combat gang violence, identifying the 2drilly gang, Grays Farm Killers, and other groups as major threats.

In response, police resources will be deployed to tackle these gangs, which are causing fear among citizens.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has also introduced a specialized guns and gangs suppression unit, along with new anti-gang and juvenile curfew laws aimed at reducing youth crime.

The strategy includes counseling, public education, and rehabilitation programs, with technology playing a key role in tracking violators and ensuring they face severe legal consequences.
